Leadership hierarchy in wild horses ¶
Based on aerial records captured by small flying robots we investigate the collective motion and the leadership dynamics in a herd of Przewalski horses (Equus ferus przewalskii) living under semi-reserve conditions. The spatial distribution of the horses shows their social organization producing an astonishing pattern during movements.
The observation is performed in collaboration with the Hortobágy National Park, Hungary and the Kölner Zoo.
¶
In order to understand the main rules which form multilevel societies we build models as well.
